don't think you even need all those machines. cows have legs. you use a lot less land for the greens and other vegetables that you need, and you site them closer to you because you want to pick them usually as you are going to use them. the animals roam around and hang around wherever you put them so long as you give them boundaries. also you don't need dogs to herd animals, they can be used but the animals are intelligent enough that you can learn to communicate with them, and they trust you because you keep the bad guys away. as i learned recently, donkeys are actually superior guards, they are bigger than any predator and probably even just one donkey can dispatch a bear or at least make it decide the sheep aren't for dinner. and then you can even use the donkey to drag a cart around to move material like putting out hay for a herd of sheep. and so long as you pick appropriate breeds, season doesn't matter, the animals are adapted to living in the cold when they are covered in fur.
