I smoked a beef roast and a shin, way better than a turkey.
Signal may not be perfect.
But every single time I use anything different, it remind me how clean the UI/UX is.
And I hope they won't change anything about it at all.
For example, started few months unused Matrix client, the Element:
+++ does work with VPN, alias email service, no questions asked, no phone verification
- there is left bar menu, opening one submenu, with Home and rest of whatever call it, rooms?
- this Home opening sub-menu People/Rooms/System Alers chats
- some rooms are only visible under Home, while some in left menu, idk why
- there is a division between rooms and space - can't understand difference
- Almost 3/4 of rooms have now the message: This room has been replaced and is no longer active. But why, some large upgrade?
- if I do not visit every room and migrate myself into new one, I'm basically with no info about it's dead end situation
- rooms chat are clumsy, full of info like: changed their profile picture 4 times, changed their name, and left. Umm, cool and what?
- more spam and unrelated service info, especially if there is Discord/TG/IRC<>Matrix bridge connection
- so messages look like shit: RoomBridge <UserXYZ:Discord> 'Actual message'
- hard to react on this
- hard to meaningfully search the content
- servers suck, if it fck up itself, entire room is corrupted
- moderation on this mess is almost impossible
- clients suck as well - monoculture now, Element only afaik 'usable'
- have no info what is shared where and what rules are applied to such connections
- some bridges are one way, some rooms have apparently mixed modes
- so many rooms have 'End-to-end encryption isn't enabled'
- it even can't be enabled because of: 'Enabling encryption may prevent many bots and bridges from working correctly.' (Ok, this does make sense.)
- if I leave old rooms, some remain in notifications, stuck forever and I can't get rid of them
Feels like Element won't starting for few more months on my machine yet again.
SimpleX still is quite promising.
He can easily be masturbating 4 dicks, if you think about it... 😏

Is it correct to claim, that the one-size-fits-all problem is a leftist problem?
Racism is based on modeling complex problems in a very easy model. And I would not spot this especially on the political left.

Why don't you ask Netanyahu where all his soldiers were on Oct 7th? You can shoot down 99% of Iranian missiles and drones, but you can't stop pickup trucks and paragliders? Ridiculous. That was a false flag as clear as any. Videotaped all the brutality to make sure there was enough hate to go round to support his war.
Btw we know he hates his people because he and Naftali Bennet just the same were among the WORST leaders when it came to forcing the genocide covid vaccine on their population. I followed it very closely, it was hell there for the unvaccinated.
That was before a barrel of oil replaced a dozen slaves for a week & threw the economics of slavery into doubt.
The "fix" was to remove race fron the equation, and classify everyone as a slave going forward...yaaayy 😒
I imagine it would work for local PDFs or Epubs as well for audio transcription? You can have your own audio books. Very cool.
Now this is interesting! This is what I wanted to see!
To me the idea of combining BitTorrent (a fully P2P backend, every client is a server) and 4chan (only the data that people actually engage with and care about gets stored) is a much more interesting and appealing direction than the original vision of Nostr, which IMO ultimately adds up to not much more than just running a bunch of private IRC servers.
To be clear I don't know yet if Bitsocial does the "only preserve what people actually care about" thing by default, but that's certainly what I would do by default. It's also very BitTorrent-like as well after all.

Yeah - this is the way; fcuk TG & Discord and alike.
As a celebration that the protocol is working and cutting inflation, yes.
But economically by 2028 the block reward will be around 25-50% of miners rewards or less, it won't be as significant.

On this day 59 years ago, the people of Oman’s Dhofar province ignited their armed struggle. Motivated by Arab nationalist sentiment, the struggle aimed to overthrow the feudal Sultan Said bin Taimur.
On this day 59 years ago, the Dhofar Liberation Front (DLF) proclaimed the beginning of their Marxist-Leninist armed struggle at a congress in Al-Kabir valley in Oman. It would mark the beginning of the Dhofar Rebellion.
Their struggle was waged against the rule of Sultan Said Bin Taimur.
He was backed financially by the UK. Bin Taimur was known to treat Dhofar and its people as his personal fief. The people of Dhofar had no rights.
The DLF was founded as an offshoot of the Movement of Arab Nationalists (MAN) established in 1950 by Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) founder George Habash, and at first operated as the Omani branch of the MAN until 1965.
Empowered by the victory of the Yemeni National Liberation Front (NLF) in 1967, the DLF renamed itself the Popular Front for the Liberation of Oman and the Arabian Gulf (PFLOAG) and officially adopted communism as its guiding philosophy.
The PFLOAG’s Political Line:
- The group’s program was cemented at the 1968 Hamrin Conference.
- The PFLOAG built connection with the struggles of people across Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
- Marxism-Leninism as the leading ideology
- Adopted women’s liberation in 1968
As medicine and paved roads were banned under Bin Taimur’s role, the PFLOAG (later the PFLO) spent significant resources improving the infrastructure of Dhofar, building schools and hospitals for the poor and needy.
Bin Taimur was overthrown by his son Qaboos in 1970, who immediately began a series of reforms meant to weaken support for the PFLO. The coup was backed by the British, as they perceived Bin Taimur to be a liability.
Despite the coup, the Dhofari revolution continued well into the 1970s. In 1973, the Shah of Iran sent 5,000 troops to Oman to assist the Sultan’s forces, turning a local war into a regional war.
After facing multiple setbacks on the frontline, the remaining PFLO fighters retreated to and settled in neighboring South Yemen in 1976. The Dhofar Rebellion was officially declared defeated that same year.

@npub1am3…xrv7 have question - can this notification be completely avoided by switching it off (the 'Service' notification) in settings and let Amber work on background?
https://image.nostr.build/16d762e94e89fd0a96613269645e3597f1685194775b925c0cf0191df02f9f34.jpg
Or is it necessary to keep Amber somehow in working state. The list is still rolled out and it taking a lot of space in notification area.
Have unrestricted and run on background allowed for battery.
Hi, @npub1syj…f6wl - I also would like to explore my bookmarks outside of Android client.
Jumble does have bookmark section, which is great.
But can't find info on whether this is done publicly or the encrypted (NIP-04) way.?
Prefer the latter.
(Amethyst is asking me how I would like to store them. Jumble did not do that, so I assume it's the public tag.)
All right, now with this, I'm all in!

My perception of the current state is that it's the evil one (the state of finance/monetary/taxation). Yet I don't think that the rest of society does care. As they have no problem enforcing such a system - and let us not assume it's because they are unaware of it, most are aware in some sense.
If they really come into the space even more, the BTC will inherit the bad and not gain much (except for price to the moon).
Most in transition won't change their mindset. So I definitely prefer a smooth ride and no mass adoption at all.
As they say: Bitcoin is for anyone, but not everyone.
Just as thinking 'should I buy more octopus', this gem grounded me back from oceans:
https://image.nostr.build/7db4e593e203f098176b439b90e1c3999163bba6b1a5c58811d12f662896a2a7.jpg
Is this a joke? I don't understand. With Bitcoin, I can see the concern due to its history, but why would it matter if your Monero comes from a miner? Also, as I understand it, only large companies, exchanges, and governments are interested in acquiring "clean" Bitcoin.
Have it write unit tests, and review those yourself.
I think I remember that @npub1l2v…ajft has used holepunch for some of his experiments, what I remember from him is that it's all not very stable. We tried using keet for gossip dev meetings but it failed many times to get us all in one chat.

"I talked to [some bloke] today. He told me that [Bitcoin was over $120k] in LA [last year]. We should have a national [bitcoin mining] company and only sell in America. Mr. President, please fix that.” 😏
Everyone should run a Nostr relay, whether local or public, or at least back up their own events.
You can do something similar using NIP-98. You will sign the event using NIP-07. Which is easy `window.nostr`
But MooOOoom! I'm practicing for the "big competition"! 😂

There is nak.nostr.com :) I mean, of course there is another reason, I haven't tried it yet
Tired of extension that need to store my nsec directly on the machine, such as nox2-fox and alike.
So switched to Amber. But not every web client allow log-in with Nostr connect.
In case of such situation there is this one extension: https://github.com/dsbaars/bunker46-extension
Extension is not signed - approved by the Firefox, so to get it working:
1) In about:config, switch to False: xpinstall.signatures.required + extensions.langpacks.signatures.required
2) Then you can install the extension - manually locate the downloaded archive and confirm its installation
3) Then generate a new URI in Amber for the Bunker46 > click '+' icon, then select the option Add and nesecbunker. Amber has some default relays pre-filled here.
4) Click on the installed Bunker46 and paste the string - it's long, so forward it via Signal for example
5) Save and test the connection
It's afaik best solution. Amber still holds the key and Bunker46 does the job.
The creator's best flex is he does not have the npub tied to him on the GH so I can't even thank him here.
This guide still holds great.
Surprised how not many users (even the technically knowledgeable base of nostr) taking advantage of having npub personalized a bit.
Possibly because it's not just a common knowledge.
Or maybe, as NOSTR clients tend to shorten the npub, it's mainly hidden a lot.
Would be great if npub1 part is ommited entirely as it doesn't carrying any meaningful info from my perspective.
(This tool allowing the few last characters to be the part of the pattern, so this solves the problem a bit.)
